I was bored today.

Hey everybody!
I was bored today. And then a package came from UPS. My heart skipped a beat. I knew exactly what was in that big brown box. We had been waiting on it for 10 days, tracking it’s every move.
Joseph and I are overseeing the design/decor of the stage and room for this year’s Wellspring Conference. We are so excited to be doing this because we have a passion for great design, and how color and decor can affect people. So we’ve been having fun dreaming of different ways to express the feeling and theme of this conference through the “look” of the room. Granted, Wellspring is a ministry that already values creativity. I mean, there are people drawing and painting throughout the worship and the rest of the conference. So the room always has lots of color and activity going on. We’re just adding our own bit to it!
Back to the package. Inside of it lies part of our idea for stage design for this year’s conference. And I was so excited to get it that I decided we needed to make a video of it showing the breathtaking moment we opened it up. Can you guess what it is and how it’s going to be used? Go ahead and post your guesses in the comments. Write what it is and how you think it will be used. It’s our rainy day game today (unless it’s not raining where you are)!

  • I'll take a wild guess, although I am not a design girl, I am an object lesson girl. Is it a heart, with many radiant colors flowing out of it...lots of golden shine? Possibly including many names of Christ interwoven....
  • Saw the sneak peek...great idea!! Love it!!
  • Marion
I'm guessing it's some sort of fabric that has lots of color and sparkle.
  • Great guesses so far, ladies, but no one has guessed correctly yet! Keep your thoughts coming!

Some kind of mobile, lantern, something to hang
  • When I look at those discs I imagine a floating orb of light. The orb appears as though it is a solitary, disconnected light source. However, on closer inspection you see that it is intricately connected to other similar orbs of light. These interconnected lights would then represent how we are individuals who are interconnected by the light of His love.

Throughout the conference the ladies will each be able to write their name on one of the orbs as a demonstration of how they are like these floating receptacles of joy. Both unique and also a connected part of this sisterhood of dancers of light and love.

I wish I could be there to see it, though that would require some radical changes to my person.

In the grip of His forever grace, resisting not,

    Ben
  • Looks like the Cotten men are hijacking this thread. So be it.

I happen to know what the Objects In Question (OIQ) are, but I can wish that they were heavenly orbs of squishy goodness, sent from a Revival Angel to smear ooey gooey anointment on all the conference attendees, taking the worship experience to new heights of fuzzy warmth and bringing about spontaneous sanctification! Yeah!

Unfortunately, the OIQs have an entirely different purpose.

    OR DO THEY?!

I would like to see the mystery orbs but the video won't run. Is it functional or is it my computer?

I have not been able to see the video either!
  • Saw the sneek peek video and so glad Joseph put down that box opener without hurting himself (smile)..Loved Jessica's cute laughter in the background when the box was being opened. So love those mystery orbs because they are something fun to have hanging on the back patio when friends & family gathering together on summer's night..my guess would be that it has something to do with us as 'sojourners'

I saw it! I like the James Bond-ish music :) Pattie you can't guess you're too prophetic. Unfair. Orbs of joy? Maybe they just APPEAR to be lamp orbs but are really bouncing riding balls to demonstrate our childlike joy in the Lord like this fella: http://www.fotosearch.com/dva002/007-0005/
  • LOL..Omigosh I LOVE the orbs of joy guess with video and hope I do better on the ones at the conference because I would always fall off those things when a child...it wasn't a pretty site :)
